Dr Kerry Brown on the Rise of China

  • NK6 University of Aberdeen Aberdeen (map)

We are proud to announce that Dr. Kerry Brown Professor of Chinese studies and Director of the Lau China Institute at King’s College London will be giving a talk about the rise of China.

Having also previously been the First Secretary at the British Embassy in Beijing Professor Brown has unique knowledge about the topic.

The talk will be centred on China’s global ambitions and the role they want to play in the international system, e.g. what are the strategic goals of China’s Belt and Road initiative? Furthermore, Dr. Brown will comment on how Europe adjusts to this reality, for example is a closer European Union needed as a counterweight to China? The talk will be followed by a Q and A session where the audience will be able to pose questions to Dr. Brown.

The talk will begin at 5:30pm on Thursday 14th February in New Kings 6.

The event is open to all so make sure to bring your friends.
